How amazing are these ads for the Sydney International Food Festival?! Each plate is a flag made out of food from that country. So clever! I especially love the little sushi rolls on the South Korea flag. You can see more flags here.
I think this might be my next read. I'd like to channel my inner french girl. Especially the part on how a French girl shops. One excerpt from this section says:
"When a French girl shops, it isn't a solitary act of buying something new. It's part of a lifelong process of editing her environment, making small but meaningful additions or adjustments to her home, her closet, her life."
I came across Locomotive's shop on etsy and I just love this adorable men's bicycle t-shirt. They have lots of other great shirts including a "handlebar mustache" shirt. So clever!
Loving these adorable cards from Darling Clementine! If only they were big prints. I would love to frame this fancy French girl and hang her in my living room.
Even though this cold cold weather seemed to come out of nowhere, I don't mind it too much yet. I really do enjoy the fall. If we could just have Fall twice in a row instead of having Winter, I would be a happy girl. I love this acorn-shaped acorn-cupcake mold pan. (Is that the right way to describe it?) So cute!
Having Kristen back on the air has rekindled my love for all things Laguna Beach. Take this quiz to see how much you know about the drama, going all the way back to the LC-Stephen-Kristen love triangle days. I'm very proud (or emabarrassed?) to say I answered 8 out of 10 correctly.
Did anyone else catch Whitney getting chewed out by Kelly Cutrone on "The City" this week? It was by far my favorite moment. Home girl totally had it coming to her. I always thought she had it together on "The Hills" but I think Jay took her downhill once she moved to NYC. Kelly is a rockstar though. Anyone who isn't afraid to go on national tv without any makeup is awesome in my book.
Just came across this new website called Font Capture where you can create your own font out of your handwriting! Totally cool. I haven't tried it yet, but I will definitely give it a go. I'm a big fan of any fun free online activities that distract me from my work!
What a sad start to the morning, learning how much sugar is in some of my favorite cold treats. Sugarstacks.com really puts it in perspective. Way till you see how many sugar cubes are in a pint of ice cream!
In the past year I've gone through at least 3 sets of headphones for my iPod. Either they get so tangled that the cord tears and the wires become exposed or the speakers blow out. I think I need to invest in a better pair. I really love these Y.I. Zip Earphones by Ji Woong. They prevent tangling and zipper even has volume control on it!
I love these cherry blossom lights from Graham & Green. They would look so pretty in my living room. They have so many great finds in their shop. I also am loving the Pantone salt and pepper shakers.
I came across this photo of Michelle Obama in her prom dress from 1981. Look at how high that slit in the skirt is! I think she's only got hotter as she got older.
Check out this awesome new hostel in Sweden that recently opened. It is an actual jet that was transformed into a hostel giving travelers a place to stay close by the airport. It has 85 beds in 25 rooms and the cockpit was transformed into a luxury suite with great views. They kept a lot of the original parts of the plane including the first class seats and even some of the oxygen masks for decor I guess. Still it looks pretty awesome. You can check out their website here.
I came across this movie today which reminded me of a dear friend. It's about a boy's ability to "break wind" which leads him to fulfill his ambition of becoming an astronaut. Doesn't quite sound like a blockbuster but I would definitely give it a chance. I mean, I love anything with Ron Weasley in it!
How great do these Swedish Goose Down Duvet Socks look? I wish I had a pair of these during this freakishly cold Chicago winter. They even have cute little zippers on the front! You can find them at Couverture's website.
This fun quiz not only helped me prove how sweet I am at 90210 trivia, but also helped me to waste 15minutes of work today! I scored 8 out of 10 correctly, dubbing me as "Beverly Thrills!"
Take this quiz to find out how creative you are. I was "Hands On." I have a "natural flair for creativity at work and at home." Sounds about right. (Found via How About Orange)
Look at these adorable re-creations of famous paintings made out of legos! This one of the Arnolfini Wedding Portrait is probably one of my favs. You can view the rest of them here.
I found this new photo blog that I love called London Shop Fronts full of pictures of various dodgy little shops all over London. Every now and then I like to check it out to see if I find any shops from my old stomping grounds when I lived there. And finally I found a familiar face. This yummy little shop was right down the street from where I worked!
Check out this sweet site where you can create your own magazine-esque fashion spread. I'm not entirely sure what purpose it has but it's fun and sort of makes you feel like a fashion editor for a few minutes. Here's a few fab ones that I whipped up.
